The Past and Pending

I was thinking back about this year and all that happen and I came to a realization that this year was not that eventful. As events in my life go; 2003 I started going to a new school and turned 21, 2002 I moved into my first apartment and felt the freedoms of that, 2001 I graduated High School and started college. What happen in 2004.... alright that was 2 minutes of thinking and I couldn't think of anything important enough to mention.

2004, the year that’s doomed to be forgotten. Maybe I'm just getting old. Old, that’s when life isn't as fun right? I'll have to ask someone that’s older...older than me. I think when you are young everything is so exciting and new and then you get older and see the world as it really is and apathy kicks in and your reality is more reality based. You see things more clearly and life starts to have limits. I'm sure this is just a slump, 2005 has the possiblity of me graduating and other randomness. This year wasn't bad it just wasn't memorable.

Land of Nod

I have been having some crazy dreams the past two nights. Not like insane dreams but they were playing out like a movies.

Monday was Sci-Fi Adventure in the high-rise dorm rooms, which my mom woke me up and interrupted right before a countdown was finished and the evil lady was lurking. You see the land lady was this pale/green skinned lady that looked evil (resembling the bride of Frankenstein) and a group of us who lived in the building went to the dark, cob-webbed basement where she lived but she caught us. We started running up the stairs before she got us and it was a chase. There was probably 10-15 of us and as soon as I got out I got the cop who was sitting outside and it was Danny Devito (I think this was from the 'Friends' episode I saw the day before). She covered it up with a lie and we all new it was a lie except the cop. Most everyone cleared out and we saw a key hole of sorts but it was two circles, like glasses and we tried to see if this piece of cardboard would fit in and inadvertently covered the light in the room and it was pitch black and we saw something glowing in the dark and as I focused on it, I saw there were a countdown being displayed and my mom knocked on my door and woke me up to go shopping with her. I wonder what the countdown would of led to.

Last nights started with getting beat up with the stick end of a rake by a friend, I was dizzy, almost passing out. Then I got up thinking they left and all of a sudden was being attacked again but this time I defended myself from being hit but didn't want to hit them back, just not get hurt. Then I was running around Denton? It was summer and everyone was outside doing summer things like playing sports and such. There was also envy, jealousy and anger, scenes in my parents house, few scenes with family, a scene driving through a creek... there’s other important parts but basically it ended with me being down and depleted and heading back to my room at night, away from all the craziness to go to sleep early then I thought instead I should drink whiskey to make up for a shitty day then I woke up feeling like listening to the Cure. I was really into this dream because it felt real and the bruises I got with the rake fight in the beginning were there the whole time during the dream and I kept on feeling them on my forehead but that was an irrelevant part of the dream, just an intro to a crazy day. It was also in both Allen and Denton like they were the same city. I woke at 930 in the am and thought why is there bright sunlight shiny in my room and then realized this was what morning was like. I couldn't go back to sleep just thinking about the dream so I just got up with 4 hours of sleep and got my oil changed and hit up the thrift stores.

My theory is that I've been lazying around not doing much, with a lack of excitement my mind made up for it with these dreams. I rarely have coherent dreams that have long and drawn out stories with plots and two nights in a row is unheard of. Maybe I’m just remembering them now because I took a nap today and remembered a dream a I had then too. My dream with the rake left me in disarray when I woke up but now that I thought about it that dream is one of my favorites I had in a long time because it had more meaning than anything else I dream about. I’m pretty sure it won’t happen again tonight since I’m thinking about it.

Maybe I can make a movie out of it. As directors, I would get Tim Burton to do the first dream as a lighthearted sci-fi. Darren Aronofsky to do the second one as a dark comedy without a happy ending but of course closure. Oh yea the second one co-written by Chuck Palahniuk and end credits with the Soundgarden song “fell on black days”. Yea, I'm rambling but then again I’m a loser.

What I remember from this year

do dodo dodo dodo dodododo....

"Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
You've come to love me lightly
Yeah you come to hold me tight
Is this motion ever lasting
Or do shudders pass in the night?"

---
A lot of website/blogs I frequent have a music theme or undertone so they usually have their top albums of the year and I do too and have done so for the past 3 years. Its some sort of musical closure for the year, if I would remember, I would do a half a year list because a year is a long time and I think my mind remembers in 6 month spans. Without my computer or my music infront of me, I can't really do that but here this the best I can from memory. My theory is if I can remember them without being infront of me it has to be good.

Everything is going as planned

I have acomplished little since winter break so everything is going as planned. It snowed today and I went outside and scrapped snow and ice off my windsheild and threw a snowball or two at my mailbox. I did get my grades back and as expected, there goes my nice GPA. I kind of knew this was coming but I was hoping for the best. I got 3 B's and one A which is not bad but not good enough to keep me at where I was. I'm thinking about grad school so I need to keep my grads up. Not like full-time grad school, more like a night class or two each semester. My sociology professor gave me the heads up that C's don't cut it in grad school and equals a fail. But I'm not even halfway sure about that even. I'd say about 31%. Well thats me, a head full of unsureities.

incase of volatile situations

We lost the bowl game today so all this finals schedule change was pointless in my book. I already started my winter break and don't feel like studying since there is a one week bloc between my finals. So I didn't feel like doing anything but I forced my self to do a little studying.

This guy from the 1st floor had his water sprinklers come on in his living room. While we [me and the ryster] watched the chaos we decide we needed to prepare so we devised a code system incase of volatile situations we can yell these out and know whats up.

code 1: wild animal in apt
code 2: stranger in apt
code 3: ryan walking around naked everyone go into lockdown mode
code 4: water sprinklers

Probably need more tarps and such for these situations. That guy who got rained on was pretty pissed off and I felt bad for him but I gave him some shorts and let him change in our place.

Video game link soon to be posted. Ju s t f or y a s l uts.

I lost momentum

Spent a nice 3 days in Allen. Drank few beers, played some tennis, played with my cousins and came back.

The ride back was pretty cool with the Geminid meteors shower. I saw five driving to Denton and seven in my patio. I think I'm going to go sit out there with some tea and watch it some more. Too bad the low tonight is 23°F. You're suppose to be able to see one or two every minute which seems pretty accurate.

I went to the thrift store today and got a shirt. When I went in there I saw a manly lady with a mullet. I was all imagining her life of dominating men; yelling at them to get her a beer, slapping them around and demanding them to make her dinner. Then I got another glance and no no no my friend this was no woman this was a very very feminine man. It looked like a very homosexual one. He walked by me and gave me this look.... well a stare. It wasn't pleasant because it looked like that glance we had was a "moment" to him. After that I was scared but I kept to myself. I had to be home by a certain time so I got my shirt and left. I walked out of the store and got into my car and started to reverse. Then I see the same guy walking out to my car and in my mind I think "wouldn't it be creepy if that guy came out to talk to me". I look at his face and he is smiling at me and points to me and me gives me a come-hither motion with his finger as I was right about to leave and starts smiling bigger. I stop for a second stunned and he comes over by my door and I shift to drive and get the fuck out of there. I look in my rear view and he turned right around and started to go in just acting like nothing happen. So,

a) what the fuck
b) what the fuck
c) come on dude if I were gay I would be so out of your league
d) what the fuck dude
e) for a second I thought I should call goodwill and report him but then I thought I'd just laugh it off
e) WTF!
f) I forgot what f is for but
g) that dude had to be in his late 30s and looked like a junky who smoked too many cigarettes in his lifetime.
h) now I'm just rambling
i) that's a shitty area of McKinney and has a lot of shady characters
j) I'd better stop I lost momentum

drop-off

Zen Pizza

What did the Master say when he walked into the Zen Pizza Parlor?
'Make me one with nothing.'
When the Master received the pizza, he gave the pizza-man a $20 bill.
The pizza-man pocketed the bill.
The Master asked "Don't I get change?"
The Zen pizza-man replied, "Change must come from within."

The other side
One day a young Buddhist on his journey home, came to the banks of a wide river. Staring hopelessly at the great obstacle in front of him , he pondered for hours on just how to cross such a wide barrier. Just as he was about to give up his pursuit to continue his journey he saw a great teacher on the other side of the river. The young Buddhist yells over to the teacher "Oh wise one , can you tell me how to get to the other side of this river"?

The teacher ponders for a moment looks up and down the river and yells back "My son, you are on the other side".

The book of right on

Just finished watching the Cowboys game. First the Cowboys were obviously going to lose with the Seahawks taking charge early, then they were obviously going to win with 26 unanswered points, then they were going to obviously lose with 25 unanswered points. I was sitting there thinking about how often the Cowboys have let me down this season especially with such a nice 29-17 lead. Just as I was thinking that a 30 yard catch by Johnson started building up hope again. Then a run by jones for a touchdown after a nice on-side with 30 seconds left till victory and they held on. Cowboys toying with my emotions with this 43-39 victory. Best Cowboys game I've seen in more than a season. There is a nice chance we can win the rest of the seasons games other than the one against the eagles, they've only lost 1 game this season.

Just Kickin' It Like a Wild Donkey

Create your own Southpark character here. Speaking of Southpark I think last wednesdays Paris Hilton "Stupid Spoiled Whore" episode was one of the best Southparks ever made. Some of that stuff I can't believe made it on tv.

N. Korea

Today I went to a guest lecturer. It was titled "U.S. POLICY TOWARD NORTH KOREA". Best guest lecturer that I've been to that I can recall. This is something that picked to do a research paper and speech about freshman year of College so I came in pretty knowledgable about the situation, names and policies. This was a guy who actually was allowed and able to talk to the high ranking officials of North Korea and tour many areas many people couldn't. He is currently working with the North Korean Government and ABC News as a consultant setting up the first interview with Kim Jong IL ever. The room was packed and people were sitting on the floor, I was really getting into it then someone pulled the fire alarm in the building. Usually I won't mind this but this was something I want to be at. We all evacutated the building and a Denton Police Department guy looked around the building and let us back from the cold in within 10 mins. I came back in and all the people who came in because they had to for class just left and the people who wanted to be there came back including me. It was a nice mix of people, lots of suits, I think the Dean of Political Sciences and some others deans and I think maybe the President of the University sat behind me. Afterwards I walked home and took a nap. The End.
